From the Priory’s Pentecost 2018 newsletter:
Br. David Bryan writes: In our society words are a principal means of communication. Some words inspire, some anger, others energize, still others bore. A plethora of words can overwhelm. In the daily barrage of words most are forgettable. It is important to use words in a careful way.
In the celebration of Pentecost is a retelling of the power of the Holy Spirit in communicating Divine Grace through the medium of language. The message of God is given through many ways – language being only one way. Perhaps on that first Pentecost Day body language, joy, and quiet or exuberant confidence also played a part in proclaiming the message of God’s love.
